Sberbank CEO: Russian banks’ profit can top 2.5 tln rbl in 2021

MOSCOW, Nov 9 (PRIME) -- Russian banks can get a profit of more than 2.5 trillion rubles in 2021, top bank Sberbank CEO German Gref said during a news conference on Tuesday.

“The central bank has forecasted a profit of the entire banking sector of 2.5 trillion rubles. I have no reasons not to trust the figure. I think we will indeed have some 2.5 trillion rubles, and maybe more,” he said.

In 2020, Russian bank earned 1.6 trillion rubles of profit.

Gref also said that Sberbank plans to shift its European units under a single license, and can enter the region’s new markets with a digital service model soon.
